Os mitos sobre CAP
Myth no. 1: "PWD is a hypoallergenic dog breed".
Please let me tell you one thing, there is no such a thing as hypoallergenic dog. Saying that, many people who suffer with allergies claim that they have no allergic reaction to PWD. It is not only the hair that is the main allergen to which a human body may react, but also dander, saliva and urine. Nevertheless, allergies are very individual matter, and you always have to try and see for yourself.
Myth no. 2: "PWD does not lose any hair".
PWD does not have an undercoat and in comparison, to other breeds, PWD does not lose much hair, you could say almost anything. But you will always find some hair around in your house. Let's put it this way, if your pup jumps on your lap, you will not be left covered with his hair. But do not be mistaken, just as human lose hair daily, PWD does too.
Myth no. 3: "Overheating in the summer with long hair"
PWD does not need to have all hair shaved off for hot months of the year. The natural long hair provides protection for the dog during the summer months. It protects the skin from UVA and also helps to keep cool as the air enters the hair and creates natural "insulation air pockets" protecting the body from the heat.
